Approach  

·          Restore the Township Hall using guidelines established by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior.

·          Apply for recognition of Township Hall on National Register of Historic Places.

·          Restoration will provide Licking Township residents with a much needed meeting site to support local or personal activities.

Licking Township Hall Preservation committee  

MISSION - The mission of the Licking Township Hall Preservation Committee is to preserve the Township Hall to the maximum historically correct extent possible and to revive the Hall to become a focal point for the identity and use of Licking Township residents.

Historically used as site for township meetings, medicine shows, recitals, community institutes, basketball games, and meeting location to support activities of local residents. 

The Township Hall

·          Constructed in 1896.   

·          Historically used as site for township meetings, medicine shows, recitals, community institutes, basketball games, and meeting location to support activities of local residents.

 ·         Once the center of township life, now used primarily for bimonthly trustee meetings, zoning commission meetings, and zoning appeals meetings. 

·          No restroom facilities.

·          No kitchen serving facilities.   

Accomplishments

·         Received $2,000 grant from the Doris Kaspar Foundation to initiate the preservation and restoration of Township Hall activities.

·          Completed plan and elevation view drawings of the building.

·          Inspected the building for structural adequacy. Building found to be structurally sound and free of termites.

·          Restored stage curtain.

·          Restored/repaired roof slate.
